After launching the Y5 Lite back in January, Huawei has now introduced the regular Y5 (2019). The phone is now officially listed on Huawei’s website. However, there is no mention of price or availability details just yet. The Y5 (2019) comes with a 5.71-inch display with waterdrop notch, 84.6 percent screen-to-body ratio and features a faux-leather finish on the rear. It comes with a single 13MP rear camera and runs on Android 9.0 Pie.

Huawei Y5 (2019) sports a 5.71-inch IPS display with HD+ (1,520 x 720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The display is certified by TUV Rheinland to block out harmful blue light. The handset is powered by the MediaTek Helio A22 SoC, clocked at 2GHz octa-core processor and packs 2GB RAM with either 16GB or 32GB onboard storage that is further expandable up to 256GB with a dedicated microSD card slot. It runs on EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.

In the camera department, the Huawei Y5 (2019) features a 13-megapixel shooter with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash on the rear. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel snapper with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video chats. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, micro USB and a 3.5mm audio jack. The phone doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor; instead, the phone relies on face unlock for biometric security. There is a 3,020mAh non-removable battery onboard. It measures 147.13×70.78×8.45 and weighs 146 grams. The Huawei Y5 2019 will be available in Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue, Amber Brown, and Modern Black colours.
