Huawei is known to offer budget-friendly smartphones under its Y series. Just last month, the brand expanded the Y series line-up with the launch of the Huawei Y9 (2018) and Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 smartphones. Now, the handset maker has added yet another phone in the Y series with the Huawei Y6 (2018), which has silently been listed on the brand’s global website. The latest Y series offering comes as an upgrade over the Huawei Y6, which was launched last year.

Huawei Y6 2018

The newly-launched Y6 (2018) ships with a 5.7-inch display bearing 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels. The performance of the smartphone is driven by the Snapdragon 425 processor, which is mated to Adreno 506 GPU and 2GB RAM. The phone comes with 16 GB of storage onboard, which can be further expanded with a microSD card. The brand has ditched the fingerprint scanner on the device in favour of the face unlock functionality.

Coming to the camera department, the Huawei Y6 (2018) comes with a 13-megapixel camera accompanied by an LED flash. For selfies and video calling, there is an 8-megapixel shooter on the front, which offers features like AR stickers and an auto mode. The device runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with EMUI 8.0 on top. Powering the show is a 3,000mAh battery. For connectivity, the phone gets 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS.

Huawei is offering the Y6 (2018) in three colour options – Black, Blue and Gold. However, the brand hasn’t announced the pricing and availability of the handset at the moment.
