“The Huawei Y6 Pro (2019) is probably the only pocket-friendly phone that has a leather back design”
Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has debuted the Y-series of smartphones in Sri Lanka this week with three models – Huawei Y9 (2019), Y7 Pro (2019), and Y6 Pro (2019). The latter is a new model that has not been announced anywhere across the globe and makes its first appearance on the island nation. The Huawei Y6 Pro (2019) is the most affordable model of the three mentioned above but has some great features. It is being marketed as the “first dewdrop display with leather finishing design.” Furthermore, its colour shades of Amber Brown and the Midnight Black set it apart from budget offerings in the same category.
In terms of specifications, Huawei Y6 Pro (2019) has a 6.09-inch HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) FullView display. There’s no mention of the processor, but we do know that it comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. Being a low-end handset, the Huawei Y6 Pro (2019) has a 13-megapixel rear shooter and an 8-megapixel front shooter but there is no fingerprint scanner. As a substitute, Huawei does offer a face unlock feature that also works at night.
In terms of software, the Huawei Y6 Pro (2019) runs the latest EMUI 9.0 with Android Pie. That’s a good thing considering the more premium models announced in the country still come with Android Oreo and EMUI 8.2. The handset is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. Pricing and sales dates of the handset were not seen on online store Singer where it will be on sale soon.
