Huawei seems set to release the successor of the Y7 (2018) budget smartphone. According to new leaked images that have surfaced online, the entry-level smartphone Huawei Y7 (2019) will feature a small waterdrop notch and dual rear cameras with AI enhancements. The smartphone will have a price tag to match, remaining firmly in the affordable segment.
A report by WinFuture.de has revealed the key Huawei Y7 (2019) specifications, along with the images. According to the report, the smartphone will flaunt a 6.2-inch display with a waterdrop-shaped notch set up. It will feature a body-to-screen ratio of 19:9 and HD+ resolution (720 x 1520 pixels). The notch at the top houses the 16-megapixel selfie camera along with the earpiece and the usual sensors. Under the hood, the Huawei Y7 (2019) will reportedly run on an 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 chipset, with 3GB RAM. Storage on offer will be 32GB, which can be further expanded via microSD.
The rear camera comes with a combination of the 13-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth-sensing sensor for depth-of-field effect. The rear camera setup will feature AI capabilities, including scene detection. The device will draw charge from a massive 4,000mAh battery, but will lack the fast charging support. It may take around 4 hours to completely charge the handset, though battery life is rated at 2 days.
The Huawei Y7 (2019) price will reportedly be €150 (approx. Rs 12,000). However, some countries may get a Pro or Prime variant of the handset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage, the report says.
