As for the Honor 10 Lite, this phone bears a teardrop notch that fits just one camera. On the rear, both the handsets have chosen glass as the material of choice, and they also exhibit the company’s gradient design approach. Dual cameras and fingerprint scanners sit on the rear surface as well. Huawei has designed both these phones very well, which makes them a delight to hold and use.

Coming to their displays, the Huawei Y9 2019 ships with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. On the other hand, the Honor 10 Lite holds a slightly smaller 6.21-inch IPS LCD panel which also carries a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels.

The dual-camera setup onboard the Huawei Y9 2019 includes a 16MP shooter and a 2MP depth sensor meant for enabling the portrait mode. Its front moreover, boasts the combination of a 13MP camera and a 2MP depth-sensing unit. In contrast, the Honor 10 Lite sports 13MP + 2MP snappers on its back. But since it’s a selfie-focused phone, it delivers a whopping 24MP front camera. Both these phones come with all the knick-knacks you’d expect from modern camera apps. These include AI-based scene detection, a beauty mode, and much more.

If you’re one for long battery life, the Huawei Y9 2019’s 4,000mAh will definitely end up pleasing you. That said, the Honor 10 Lite’s 3,400mAh battery isn’t too bad either. Both these phones support 10W fast charging.

These similarly-priced handsets from Huawei definitely pack a punch with their value-for-money proposition. Their internals are similar, but their other specs are quite different, which allows them to appeal to a different set of consumers. Selfie-crazy folks will definitely find more appeal in the 24MP front camera-equipped Honor 10 Lite, while those who prefer battery life over everything else, would want to go for the Huawei Y9 2019. It also remains to be seen if Honor decides to surprise us with the pricing of the Honor 10 Lite. That said, there’s no denying that both these phones are excellent buys for their low prices.
