The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 has just been announced, and there’s no doubt that it’s a highly-impressive handset, and its price tag makes all the more attractive. Triple rear cameras and a pop-up selfie shooter, apart from a full-screen fascia are just a few of the highlights of this smartphone. But at the price it will be selling at, it will be competing with the likes of the Realme X and the Redmi K20, both of which are quite popular. The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 will be sold in India from August 7th onwards in the form of just one 128GB storage model that will cost Rs 15,990. As for the Realme X, it’s offered in two RAM variants, with both shipping with 128GB of storage onboard. The one with 4GB of RAM is priced at Rs 16,999, whereas the version with 8GB of RAM can be yours at Rs 19,999. The Redmi K20 is the most expensive among the lot. It’s offered in just one RAM variant but two storage variants. The 6GB + 64GB model carries a price tag of Rs 21,999 and the 6GB + 128GB option will set you back by Rs 23,999.
That makes the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 the most inexpensive handset among the lot.

Huawei has blessed its newest handset with an exquisite Pixel-like two-tone surface on the back. This design approach coupled with the glossy finish on its plastic shell allows the device to exude premium looks. The Realme X also has plastic on its back, while the K20 has incorporated glass.
All three phones have all-screen front surfaces, but the Y9 Prime 2019 sports the largest display among them all. Its 6.59-inch IPS LCD panel creates an immersive visual experience, and the screen real estate makes it ideal for content consumption. The Realme X comes with a slightly smaller 6.53-inch AMOLED display, while the Redmi K20 Pro goes for an even smaller 6.39-inch AMOLED display. All three devices bear a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels.

At the heart of the Huawei device is the company’s homegrown Kirin 710F chipset. This is a slightly upgraded Kirin 710, which was already a pretty impressive SoC. Its processor is a 2.2GHz octa-core unit, and is aided by 4GB of RAM. The GPU Turbo 2.0 technology is also onboard for a smooth gaming experience. The Realme X on the other hand, has adopted the Snapdragon 710 chipset featuring a 2.2GHz octa-core CPU and an Adreno 616 GPU. Like we said before, this phone ships with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM. As for the Redmi K20, it has gone with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730 SoC, with its 2.2GHz octa-core processor and its Adreno 618 GPU. And then there’s 6GB of RAM, and 64GB or 128GB of storage to choose from.
All three devices boot Android 9.0 Pie, but have their respective skins on top. The Y9 Prime 2019 hosts EMUI 9, which has a range of new features, apart from an overhauled interface. The Realme X of course goes for ColorOS 6, whereas the K20 ships with MIUI 10.

The Y9 Prime 2019 has three cameras on the back. The 16MP pop-up unit serves as its selfie camera, offering a range of additional features like 3D portrait effects and other AI-based traits.
The Realme X only has just two cameras on its back. A 48MP main sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, it gets a 16MP self-elevating camera. The Redmi K20 also ships with a triple rear camera setup that’s befitting of its higher price. This cluster includes a 48-megapixel main camera, a 13MP ultra wide-angle camera and an 8MP telephoto camera. Its pop-up shooter features a 20-megapixel sensor.
