Hyderabad could soon become India’s first Wi-Fi enabled city

“The Telangana government could soon to make Hyderabad an entirely Wi-Fi enabled city”

Telangana government officials are planning to make Hyderabad the first fully Wi-Fi enabled city in India. In a review meeting for IT and Investment Region Policy, the state’s IT minister K.T. Rama Rao informed Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao that several firms have come forward to offer 4G services in Hyderabad to make it a fully Wi-Fi enabled city.

Recently, Tata DoCoMo, Airtel and Vodafone announced a partnership with the New Delhi Municipal Corporation to offer Wi-Fi services in three major commercial areas of the capital – Connaught Place, Khan Market and Karol Bagh. 

Last month, MTS announced that it would be offering free Wi-Fi to commuters on the Gurgaon Rapid Metro.
