“The iBall Andi 4K Panther is an affordable octa-core device with a 5-inch qHD display”
The domestic smartphone maker iBall has expanded its portfolio of Android smartphones in India with the launch of the Andi 5K Panther. The phone boasts an octa-core processor and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat, all for the not-so-heavy price tag of Rs 10,499.
The iBall Andi 5K Panther features a 5-inch qHD IPS display with a pixel density of 220ppi. The octa-core CPU under the hood is clocked at 1.4GHz, and while the chipset maker is not specified, it should be the MT6592 SoC from MediaTek. The phone offers 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card. The camera features include an 8MP rear autofocus shooter with LED flash and a 2MP front snapper for video calling. Connectivity wise, it offers dual-SIM slots, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro-USB and A-GPS. It’s fuelled by a 1,900mAh battery with no word on calling and standby times. The handset will be available in milky silver and wine colour models.
The iBall Andi 5K Panther will be up against the likes of the Wickedleak Wammy Neo Youth that also comes with an octa-core processor. However, the Andi 5K Panther will face quite a bit of heat, since the Wammy Neo Youth is offered at a mere Rs 8,450.
In June this year, iBall launched the Andi 4 IPS Tiger smartphone for Rs 7,199. It is an entry-level device with a 4-inch display and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The phone came with a 4-inch IPS WVGA display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of storage expandable up to 32GB.
