2021 is over, and it’s time to reveal the winners of the Indian Gadget Awards Users’ Choice award. After two weeks of rigorous voting where 50,000+ user cast their votes across four different categories, we finally have the results, and they are surprising. The users’ choice awards are the most coveted for any brand, as they show how their products were received by the people whose voices matter. Users were asked to vote for their favourite smartphone, gadgets, and brands across four different categories, and more than 50,000 users participated in the voting process. Here are the results, as decided by the readers.

Most Popular Phone of 2021

2021 was a good year for smartphones, and we saw some of the fiercest competition between smartphone companies. It resulted in the release of quality smartphones across all price segments. There were in total 27 nominees, but there can only be one winner. And according to Indian Gadget Awards voters, the winner is…

Winner: Apple iPhone 13

As far as results go, this was not the most surprising one. iPhones have always been quite popular, and iPhone 13 was also well received by the consumers. A big reason behind the success of iPhones has always been a tight integration between hardware and software, and we believe the same magic worked for iPhone 13. The phone packs a lighting-fast A15 bionic chipset, industry-leading dual-camera system, a beautiful Super Retina XDR display, and more, inside a beautiful body. This is complemented by the robust iOS software that takes advantage of its powerful hardware to deliver one of the smoothest smartphone experiences ever.

Runner-up: Redmi Note 10 Pro Max

When it comes to budget phones, Xiaomi remains the king, and its Redmi Note line is one of the most popular, if not the most popular smartphone line. The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max brought a powerful 108MP quad-camera system, 120Hz Super AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G chipset, and the phone sold like hot cakes in India. We are not surprised that it was voted runner-up in the Users’ Choice award for Most Popular Phone of 2021.

‌Most Loved Smartphone Brand of 2021

This is probably one of the most important users’ choice awards for any smartphone brand. There were 14 different nominees, and users were asked to vote for their favourite smartphone brand.

Winner: Samsung

Yes, you read it write, Samsung is the winner of the Most Loved Smartphone Brand of 2021 Users’ Choice award. Despite tough competition in the market, the South Korean giant has maintained its position in the consumers’ hearts over the last year. With timely software updates, innovative features, great hardware and performance, and smartphones serving all price points, Samsung has wooed the buyers and emerged as their favourite brand of the year.

Runner up: Xiaomi

Coming at the runner-up place is Xiaomi, which is no surprise at all. Its lineup for budget 5G phones, especially in the budget and mid-range smartphone segment, have helped it cement its position in 2021 as well. A company rarely manages to keep its image intact for such a long period, but it seems Xiaomi has achieved it successfully. Hence, it remains one of the loved smartphone brands in India.

Most Loved Chipset Brand of 2021

Indian Gadget Awards users were also asked to vote for their favourite chipset brand of 2021 across mobile and desktop. There were seven nominees in total, and here is the winner as decided by our voters:

Winner: Intel

Intel won the Most Loved Chipset Brand of 2021 users’ choice award and we are not surprised. The 11th Gen Intel Core processor family launched last year brought generational improvements with industry-leading CPU performance, Intel Iris Xe graphics, AI acceleration, and best-in-class wired and wireless connectivity. The company remains the preferred desktop and laptop chipset brand for the Indian consumers.

Runner up: Qualcomm

Unsurprisingly, Qualcomm took the runner-up spot in the Most Loved Chipset Brand of 2021 award. With a bunch of great performers in its portfolio, the chipmaker was the preferred brand in the mid-range segment. Making 5G a staple in its chipsets and boosting the performance up a notch certainly helped it sway the users and bag their votes.

Most Innovative Gadget of 2021

The final Users’ Choice award category in the Indian Gadget Awards is the Most Innovative Gadget of 2021, with five nominees vying for the title. Here are the results:

Winner: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3

As expected, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 won the Most Innovative Gadget of 2021 Users’ Choice award. Samsung is the company that has been pushing the foldable formfactor aggressively, and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 is a foldable phone we can wholeheartedly recommend to mainstream consumers who have the money to spend. With Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, Samsung ironed out most of the issues that were plaguing its predecessor. It seems that the Indian Gadget Awards voters also agree with this assessment and, hence, selected it as the winner.

Runner up: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3

Launched alongside Galaxy Z Fold3, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 takes the runner-up spot in the category. With a sleeker design, a bigger outer display, IPX8 water-resistant rating, and several other improvements, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 improved upon its predecessor in several meaningful ways. When every other company is struggling with foldables, Samsung has seemingly cracked the code and perhaps that’s why the Indian Gadget Awards 2021 voters gave it their support enthusiastically.
