Indian Gadget Awards winners: Realme 9 Pro+ named Best Camera Phone of 2022 Under Rs 30,000

The Indian Gadget Awards are back for another stint with 18 jury members, 28 award categories, and over 150 nominees. Over the past year, we have witnessed a good bunch of smartphone launches in the midrange segment that come equipped with a great set of cameras. On that note, let’s see who won the award among the six nominees for the Best Camera Phone under Rs 30,000 this year.

This is the same sensor that has made its appearance in other pricier smartphones as well as Realme’s own GT Neo 3 and GT 2. Besides that, the rear camera setup on the Realme 9 Pro+ also includes an 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro sensor.

Coming to the front, there is a 16MP selfie snapper housed within the punch-hole of the display.

Its other cameras include a 2MP macro lens and an 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide sensor for group shots. Furthermore, the Street Photography Mode within the camera app allows users to leverage features such as Instant Focus and Quick Zoom for effortless photography on the go. Upfront, a 16MP camera situated within the punch-hole takes care of group selfies and portrait shots.

The OnePlus Nord 2T is another contender for the Best Mainstream Camera Phone of 2022. This phone offers an OIS-equipped 50MP IMX766 wide camera, an 8MP 120-degree field of view ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP mono lens. The Nord 2T utilises the Dimensity 1300’s AI prowess to provide crystal clear and bright shots even in challenging lighting environments. Apart from that, the Sony DOL-HDR technology delivers exceptionally good results when shooting videos in backlit environments by keeping the main subject colourful and natural. As for the selfies, the OnePlus Nord 2T uses the same 32MP front camera found on the OnePlus 10 Pro.

Moving away from the specifications, the Galaxy M53 boasts of an exciting camera and editing features such as Object Eraser to get rid of unwanted subjects in the image, Background Blur for DSLR-like shots, and Remaster mode to bring about natural tones from a photo. Coming to the front, there is a 32MP selfie snapper that is capable of recording 4K videos in 30FPS which is a rarity among smartphones priced similarly to the Galaxy M53.

The last nominee for the Best Mainstream Camera Phone of 2022 is the Motorola Edge 30. This handset comes equipped with an interesting 50MP triple rear camera setup which comprises a 50MP primary camera, 50MP 118-degree ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP depth lens. On the front, you may find a 32MP camera that can shoot videos in up to 4K resolution at 30FPS, just like the Samsung Galaxy M53. Coming back to the rear cameras, the Moto Edge 30 can click clear and unshaken pictures thanks to optical image stabilization which also makes up for taking beautiful night shots. Furthermore, despite not carrying a dedicated macro lens, the device can capture detailed close-up shots through the 50MP Macro Vision mode which utilises the ultra-wide sensor.
