Most Popular Affordable Smartphone Brand of 2022

Winner: Tecno

The Indian Gadget Awards’ most popular affordable smartphone brand of the year is awarded to Tecno. The brand braved noted names like Realme, Moto, Nokia, and Infinix to secure the top place. This isn’t surprising considering that Tecno launched various models in the sub-Rs 15,000 segment in 2022. Tecno perfectly balanced the price-to-value ratio with its offerings in the country and customers have been pretty satisfied with phones like the Pova Neo, Pova 3, Spark 8C, and more. Besides the hardware features, the easy availability of these phones across retail outlets and online stores has helped it gain customers.

Game-changer of the Year 2022

Winner: Infinix

Infinix is the game-changer brand of the year 2022. This doesn’t come as a surprise considering the sharp rise in the number of products it launched in the year and the user base it grabbed. The company has a range of offerings right from budget to flagship segment, which means there is a phone for everyone at all price points. The company has been sharply increasing the number of products it launches in a calendar year and the aggressive pricing has further boosted it to gain traction among the online audience. Infinix Note 12, Note 12 Turbo, Hot 11 2022 and others have registered good responses in 2022.

Emerging Laptop Brand of 2022

Winner: Infinix

Besides smartphones, Infinix has been on the rise even in the laptop segment, which is a practical gold mine, especially in the era of Covid where there is still some part of online training/work going on. The company debuted its laptops in the country in 2021 and since then, it has been consistently adding new models to cater to newer audiences. The Infinix InBook X1 Slim laptop is the brand’s slimmest model yet packs in a top-of-the-line configuration like a 10th-generation i7 processor. These laptops have been receiving good reviews from experts and users alike.

Most Popular Laptop Processor Brand of 2022

Winner: AMD

AMD is rightfully named the most popular laptop brand of the year 2022 at the Indian Gadget Awards. The chip maker has focussed its strengths on introducing both flagship gaming-centric chipsets and also professional-grade chips to cater to a larger section of the audience. AMD has bettered Intel in most aspects and claimed the top spot with ease. The chip-marker has debuted the Ryzen 7000 Series Desktop processor lineup, which is powered by the new “Zen 4” architecture, ushering into the next era of high performance for gamers, enthusiasts, and content creators.

Most Popular Smartphone SoC of 2022

Winner: Qualcomm

Qualcomm is the most popular smartphone SoC brand in 2022. The San-Diego based company had a good year with a range of flagship and mid-range chipsets such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC, Snapdragon 695 SoC, Snapdragon 480+, Snapdragon 778G+, and others. All these resulted in the brand becoming the users’ choice of the year in the smartphone SoC segment. Qualcomm achieved this feat despite fierce competition from MediaTek with its Dimensity and Helios chipsets.
