The Infinix Zero 40 features a curved plastic body with a dual-tone matte finish. It comes in three shades: Violet Garden, Moving Titanium, and Rock Black. It’s also taller and heavier than the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus.
On the other hand, the Nothing Phone (2a) (review) has the same design, dimensions, and glyph lighting as its younger sibling, the Phone (2a). The device has a glass body with a metal frame, coming in grey and black, slightly different from the Phone (2a)’s black shade, with a metallic finish.
Both phones have an IP54 rating, offering protection against dust particles and light rain.

The Infinix Zero 40 has a bigger 6.78-inch and smoother 144Hz screen than the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus’ 6.7-inch 120Hz panel. Both phones feature a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection against scratches and wear and tear. Moreover, both phones have a Full-HD+ resolution AMOLED panel, offering a clear viewing experience.

We haven’t tested the performance of the Infinix Zero 40 yet, but we do know that it has a more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate SoC at the helm than the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro chip of the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus. The 8200 Ultimate runs on 2,000 – 3,100MHz and features ARM Mali-G610 MP6 GPU compared to 2,000 – 2,800MHz clock speed and ARM Mali-G610 MP4 GPU of the 7350 Pro.
During our testing, the Phone (2a) Plus scored 7,71,491 points on AnTuTu and 1,121 points for the single-core test with 2,203 points for the multi-core test on Geekbench.

The Infinix Zero 40 features a better 108MP primary shooter than the 50MP snapper on the Phone (2a) Plus, which should result in more detailed and crisp photos. Moreover, it has an additional 2MP depth sensor for creating a depth effect on the subject in the image. Both phones have a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP front camera for social media-ready selfies and video calls.

Both phones draw power from a 5,000mAh battery that should offer a reliable backup in real-world use. However, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus has a slightly faster 50W charging support than the Infinx Zero 40’s 45W charging speed.
In our testing, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus ran for 14 hours and 34 minutes in the PCMark’s battery test. It takes 51 minutes for the device to go from 20 percent to 100 percent battery level.

The Infinix Note 40 runs XOS, a custom skin based on Android 14, whereas the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus runs NothingOS, which provides a choice between Nothing UI and Material UI. Both smartphones also feature AI technology to improve the overall software experience.
However, Nothing guarantees three years of OS upgrades and four years of security patches for the Phone (2a) Plus, whilst Infinix only offers two years of Android releases and three years of security updates for the Zero 40.
