Smartphone and accessories brand Infinix is set to launch its new 5G smartphone, which was announced back in November last year, in India. Earlier this week, the company took to Twitter to announce that the Infinix Zero 5G (2023) will be launched in India on February 4th, days after the company is also launching a budget smartphone, the Infinix Note 12i, in India. According to reports, Infinix’s global pricing of $239 suggests that the Zero 5G smartphone, in its 2023 avatar, will cost under Rs 20,000 in India for a sole RAM and storage variant.
In terms of specifications, the smartphone is tipped to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC, paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone will also reportedly accommodate up to 256GB of external storage with a microSD card, although it is not clear if the same will be offered through a dedicated storage expansion slot, or a hybrid SIM slot.
Other key features of the smartphone include a 6.78-inch full HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP triple rear camera with two additional 2MP modules, a 16MP selfie camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. It also gets a 3.5mm audio port for wired headphone support, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. In terms of dimensions, the smartphone measures 8.9mm in thickness, and weighs 201 grams. It will also be available in Coral Orange, Pearly White and Black colour options, once launched.
