Intel Arc B570 and B580 GPUs launched with impressive performance boost

Highlights
  • Intel’s new Arc B-series GPUs offer up to 70% better performance per Xe core and 50% more performance per watt.
  • Intel Arc B570 will start at $219, the B580 will start at $249.

Intel has introduced new Arc B-series graphic cards focusing on providing “best-in-class value for performance” for gaming and AI workflows. The GPUs are based on Intel’s latest Xe2 architecture, which features Xe Matrix Extensions AI engines. Intel claims the new Arc B-series GPUs provide a huge performance upgrade over its predecessors. Here’s all you need to know.

Intel Arc B570 and B580 GPU: what’s new?

Intel says the new Arc B-series GPUs, codenamed Battlegage, provide 70% better performance per Xe core and 50% more per watt. Compared to the Arc A750 GPU, the new Arc B580 GPU is 24% faster on average for 1440p gaming. Intel also says that the new Arc B-series GPUs provide “32% better performance-per-dollar” than the competition.

The latest Xe2 architecture delivers higher performance per watt, a more capable ray-tracing unit and better mesh shading performance. XeSS 2 includes three technologies, XeSS Super Resolution, XeSS Frame Generation and Xe Low Latency, for an improved gaming experience. XeSS 2 technology can improve frames-per-second output by up to 3.9x, delivering better performance for AAA games.

Other features include an Xe Media engine, Intel’s AI Playground application and Game On Driver support for launch-day patches and performance updates for new games. The Arc B-series GPUs are equipped with 10GB or 12GB of dedicated graphics memory.
