This means iPhone 7 series or below won’t get the iOS 16 update. Here’s the full list of the iPhones that will not get the update.

The iPhone 7 and the original iPhone SE were launched in 2016 and received iOS updates for six years. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were launched in 2015 and received an iOS update for whopping seven years. That’s a lot of updates for six/seven-year-old phones. Most Android phones offer three years of Android software updates these days, which means that older iPhones got twice the updates as Android. Samsung and Google have recently started shipping four years updates on their handsets instead of three, and security updates for up to five years.
