“Apple iPhone 11 series is expected to pack bigger batteries, triple rear camera setup, and run iOS 13 out of the box”
Citi Research is out with a new report outlining Apple’s quarterly results and expectations from the upcoming iPhones. The report highlights the support for Apple Pencil in 2019 iPhones. Apple Pencil was introduced back in 2015 along with first-generation iPad Pro and the company currently has two generations of Apple Pencil. However, this isn’t the first time we are hearing Apple Pencil support for iPhones; back in August 2018, Taiwan-based publication Economic Daily News reported that Apple would bring Apple Pencil support to 2018 iPhones. However, that didn’t happen. Other iPhone 11 features mentioned in the Citi report include a bezel-less screen similar to the current lineup, larger battery capacity, and triple rear camera setup on the expensive models.
Moreover, the report also notes that next-generation iPhones could have a 10-megapixel selfie snapper and 14-megapixel rear cameras. Citi expects the pricing of the 2019 iPhones to remain the same — the iPhone 11 Max is expected to cost $1,099 (around Rs 76,000), the iPhone XS successor could set you back by at $999 (around Rs 69,100), the iPhone XR 2019 would likely start at $749 (around Rs 51,800), as per the report. If Apple indeed brings support for Apple Pencil, it would be a departure from the company’s earlier approach.
Earlier reports suggest that Apple iPhone 11 series will be powered by the A13 chipset, retain the same display sizes but with slightly reduced notch sizes. These phones are likely to run on iOS 13 out of the box and also said to support reverse wireless charging. The handsets are expected to come with an additional ultra-wide-angle lens. Apple is expected to introduce three new iPhones around September. As there are still a couple of months left till launch, we are bound to come across more details soon.
