“The iPhone 11 price in India starts at Rs 64,990 and the more premium iPhone 11 Pro series begins at Rs 99,990”
The iPhone 11 series has been introduced at Apple’s event in Cupertino, US. Apple took the wraps off the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, replacing the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max, respectively. While the new iPhone models looks largely the same as their respective predecessors, they have received specs-boost and an overhaul to the camera. Apart from this, the company has officially retired the iPhone X, XS, and XS Max from its lineup. Lastly, iOS 13 will be available to download for users of iPhone 6s and above starting September 19th.

Starting with the iPhone 11, the XR successor has a squarish rear camera module, with the bump part of the glass itself. As expected, the entry point to the 2019 iPhone series has dual 12MP rear sensors, with OIS, 120-degree FoV, f/1.8, and 2x optical zoom. There’s a new Night Mode, improved portrait mode, upgraded video stabilisation, slow-mo video, etc are part of the package. The company says the glass is the toughest in the world. Buyers will be able to choose between six colour options — Purple, Red, White, Black, Green, and Yellow. The handset delivers 17-hour video playback and supports fast-charging (50 percent charging in 30 minutes), though the charger is sold separately; it also supports wireless charging.
Other new features include the A13 Bionic processor, 12MP f/2.2 TrueDepth selfie camera, increased battery life (compared to iPhone XR), and faster Face ID. Familiar features include a 6.1-inch LCD Liquid Retina HD screen with 828 x 1,792 pixels resolution and the 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options, and IP68 water-resistance rating for up to 2 metres and 30 minutes. Dual SIM is supported, thanks to the eSIM functionality for the secondary SIM. The iPhone 11 price in India starts at Rs 64,900 ($699 in the US), which is lower than that of its 2018 counterpart.
iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max price in India, specifications
The iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max pack the A13 Bionic chip too, the one that powers the iPhone 11. The latest mobile platform by Apple is, naturally, claimed to be faster than last year’s 7nm A12 SoC in both application and graphics processing. The iPhone 11 Pro sports a 5.8-inch display and the Max model has a 6.5-inch panel, both with the OLED Super Retina XDR Display that now offers 800nits brightness. The notch is still there and continues to stay wide to house a number of sensors inside for cameras and (the upgraded) Face ID. Apple claims that the Face ID tech on iPhone 11 Pro is 30 percent faster and works at multiple angles.
Both the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max have the textured matte glass-and-stainless steel design, with the triple rear camera setup – a first for Apple – located on the top-right corner. The camera setup for both models is identical and consists of three 12MP sensors, a primary f/1.8 sensor, an ultra wide-angle sensor with 120-degree field of view, and a telephoto lens with 52mm focal length. Another upgrade over the camera of the iPhone 11 is the inclusion of dual OIS. The front camera has a 12MP sensor and is pretty much the same as that of the cheaper 2019 model.
The smaller of the two premium 2019 Apple phones is rated to deliver 18 hours of video playback, four more than its iPhone XS, on a single charge. Similarly, the bigger model is said to offer 20-hour battery life, an increase of five hours over its predecessor. Finally, the 18W fast-charger will be bundled with the handset. Wireless charging is part of the package too. The other key features include IP68 rating for water-resistance up to 4 metres and up to 30 minutes, Lightning connector, and dual SIM support.
iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max prices start at Rs 99,900 and Rs 1,09,900, respectively. They will come in four hues – Midnight Green, Gray/Silver, Gold, and Space Gray – and three storage options (64GB, 256GB, and 512GB). All the three new Apple phones will be available for pre-order starting this Friday, with sales beginning September 27th.
