iPhone 12 series, which is expected to be in September, will see a delay in shipments, Apple confirmed this week during its earnings call. It keeps in line with recent rumours about the delay in the sale of the 5G iPhone 12 models. Apple CFO, Luca Maestri, said during the quarterly earnings that the while the iPhone 11 series went on sale from late-September 2019, it won’t be the case for the iPhone 12 series, which is expected to be a available a few weeks later, most likely in October. While there will be a delay in the shipment of iPhone 12 models, Apple may still unveil the phones in September. Earlier this week, Qualcomm had hinted that there will be a delay in a “flagship phone launch” during its earnings call, which we now know was about the iPhone 12 series.

As for the specifications, the iPhone 12 line is expected to include four models – a 5.4-inch, two 6.1-inch variants, and a larger 6.7-inch model. They are said to be powered by the A14 Bionic SoC with 5G support. They are said to come with flat stainless steel frame and rounded corners much like the current iPad Pro models. As for the optics, the telephoto lens on the iPhone 12 will be bumped up to 3x optical zoom and the phones are expected to come with improved low-light performance. The face ID sensor is expected to get a wider field of view and the handsets should support at least 18W fast-charging.
