According to the MacRumors report citing Jeff Pu, an analyst at Hong Kong-based investment firm Haitong International Securities, claims that the upcoming non-Pro iPhone models will get a new camera sensor.

• His research note states that the vanilla iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models are expected to feature a new 48MP camera sensor on the back.
• This could be the same sensor that was first used on the iPhone 14 Pro series. This also means that the non-Pro models could get support for 48MP ProRAW mode.
• What this also means is that this year’s base models, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, are set to receive the first major camera resolution upgrade since the iPhone 6s for the baseline model.

Furthermore, the research note stated that the non-Pro models would feature a new three-stacked sensor that can capture more light for improved image quality. However, there are certain issues like the stacked sensor is likely facing yield issues, which could lead to delays in the mass production of the vanilla models.

iPhone 15 leaks so far

Rumours leaked so far suggest the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are set to come as major upgrades over the current iPhone 14 Pro Max models, thanks to the inclusion of a new periscope lens, titanium chassis and others. As for the Pro models, the analyst reported that they would come with a USB Type-C port, a titanium frame, more RAM and the upgraded A17 Bionic SoC. We should know more details about the iPhones soon.
