The iPhone 16 series details are emerging in bits and bobs ahead of the upcoming launch event. Today, we have the supposed launch date of the iPhone 16 series and the event could take place sooner than last year’s show. However, the report suggests Apple could stick to the tradition of a Tuesday launch.
iPhone 16 launch date (rumour)
As per CNMO Technology News, the iPhone 16 series could launch on September 10th. That’s two days earlier than the September 12th launch event of the iPhone 15 series. But, as aforementioned, they are both Tuesdays.
Apple had strayed from this Tuesday tradition in 2022 while announcing the iPhone 14 series. That was a Wednesday. So, it’s not necessary that Apple will launch the iPhone 16 on a Tuesday. In any case, we like to take this with a pinch of salt until we hear from Apple.
Meanwhile, here’s what we expect to see:

Here are every new features or upgrades expected from the iPhone 16 series at launch:
- The rear camera panel of regular iPhone 16 series models could look different and more similar to the iPhone 12.
- The new iPhones could launch in new colours too.
- The displays on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models could be bigger. The bezels could be slimmer.
- All iPhone 16 series models could be equipped with a multi-purpose Action button.
- The iPhone 16 series could also come with a Capture button that allows DSLR-like focus and gesture control.
- The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus camera setup could benefit from spatial video support (think of them as 3D immersive videos). The Pro models could get an upgraded ultrawide camera and anti-reflective tech to thwart lens flare.
Not all features would make the cut though on the day of the iPhone 16 series launch:
- Apple Intelligence could come as part of the iOS 18.1 update, which means not as part of the iOS 18 on the day of launch.
- Fully revamped Siri could come in 2025 only.
