iPhone 9/ SE 2020 may launch today, official screen protector listing confirms design

“The 2020 iPhone SE is said to be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage variants and White, Black and PRODUCT (Red) colour options”

Apple may launch the much-anticipated 2020 iPhone SE aka iPhone 9 today i.e April 3rd, according to a 9to5Mac report citing sources. The rumoured budget iPhone had missed the March launch timeline due to supply chain delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic, but it seems Apple is ready to announce the iPhone 9/ SE 2 today. The report says that Apple will start accepting orders for the 2020 iPhone SE from today i.e April 3rd. The handset is expected to retain the same chipset found on the iPhone 11 series — the A13 Bionic.

Furthermore, 9to5Mac notes the Apple 2020 iPhone SE will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage variants and will come in White, Black and PRODUCT (Red) colour options. At launch, there will be five Apple 2020 iPhone SE cases: Black silicone, White silicone, Red leather, Black leather and Midnight Blue leather. It is rumoured to carry the same design as the iPhone 8 with thick bezels, a 4.7-inch display and TouchID for security. It should have a glass back with the Apple logo, single camera sensor and LED flash. However, it remains to be seen whether Apple would add wireless charging support or not. As for the price, the 2020 iPhone SE is expected to start $399 for the base model, which is less than half of the iPhone 11 Pro price.

The Apple 2020 iPhone SE is expected to start $399 for the base model, which is more than half of the iPhone 11 Pro.

Separately, in-line with the 9to5Mac report, the 2020 iPhone SE Belkin screen protector has been listed on the Apple website and is readily available for purchase at $39.95 (around Rs 3,100). Since the listing says it is also compatible with iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, it is now more or less confirmed that the upcoming budget iPhone will have same form factor with the old Touch ID. With Apple A13 Bionic bringing support for Arcade, AR and much more, it should be a good upgrade for customers with the older iPhones.
