“Vivo’s iQOO sub-brand will launch India’s first smartphone with Snapdragon 865 SoC and 5G support”
iQOO is set to make its debut in India soon and the Vivo sub-brand recently confirmed that it will be the first to launch a smartphone with Snapdragon 865 SoC and 5G connectivity in India. Now, 91mobiles has exclusively learned from industry sources that iQOO will launch in India on February 25th. While the launch date has been revealed to us, the source did not mention the name of the smartphone. However, the iQOO 3 is the most likely smartphone to launch in India as it is the only upcoming phone in the company’s portfolio that is said to come with a Snapdragon 865 SoC. iQOO recently confirmed the iQOO 3 5G name through a teaser image on Weibo.
As per the image, the iQOO 3 has a vertically aligned quad-camera setup at the back along with an LED flash. The volume rocker and power button are present on the right side, while the 3.5mm audio jack is placed up top.
Vivo iQOO 3 specifications
Some key Vivo iQOO 3 specifications were recently listed on TENAA. The smartphone is tipped to rock a 6.44-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with 1,080 X 2,400 pixels resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The punch-hole design had already been revealed via leaked live images. iQOO 3 is said to be powered by a 2.84GHz octa-core Snapdragon 865 SoC. The iQOO 3 is tipped to pack up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB internal storage that may not be expandable. It is likely to boot Android 10 with FunTouch OS skin on top.
In terms of optics, the Vivo iQOO 3 is rumoured to come with a quad-camera setup at the back comprising of a 48MP/64MP primary sensor, dual 13MP lenses and a 2MP unit. On the front, there is a 16MP snapper for selfies and video chats. Lastly, a 4,370mAh battery (4,410mAh typical) with 55W fast-charging support fuels the handset. Vivo iQOO 3 is said to measure 158.51 x 74.88 x 9.16mm and weigh in at 214.5 grams.
