iQOO 9 visits Indian IMEI database even before iQOO 8 series launches in India

iQOO is looking to expand its smartphone lineup in India more rapidly than before. After a rather uneventful 2020, iQOO launched four new devices in India this year, with more phones expected to launch soon. The iQOO 8 series is the company’s latest flagship smartphone series, which comes in two models and was launched in China two months ago. The iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro bring some great incremental updates over the iQOO7 and iQOO 7 Legend respectively. We exclusively revealed that the iQOO 8 India launch is on the cards.  Now even before the iQOO 8 series arrives, the iQOO 9 has been listed on the IMEI database.

The iQOO 9 series is expected to launch next year, with an official timeline yet to be revealed. Months before the official launch, the upcoming iQOO 9 series has been spotted on the Indian IMEI Database, courtesy MySmartPrice. The vanilla iQOO 9 has been listed with the model number V2171A. The database also confirms the name of the model as iQOO 9. The same device with the model number V2171A is also listed on the global IMEI database, suggesting that iQOO will bring the smartphone to all global markets, including India, very soon.

Other details of the upcoming smartphone are yet to be revealed, but we expect more information about the device in the coming months.

iQOO 8 series expected launch date and specifications

The iQOO 8 series is expected to launch next month in India, with both the smartphones launched in China to come here. The company has not yet confirmed the exact launch date. The vanilla iQOO 8 features a 6.5 inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The iQOO 8 Pro which could be renamed to iQOO 8 Legend in India, sports a 6.78-inch Super AMOLED 2K display with the same 120Hz refresh rate.

Both the phones come with a triple rear camera setup on the back, with the iQOO 8 having a 48MP primary camera sensor whereas the iQOO 8 Legend has a 50MP primary camera sensor. The iQOO 8 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, whereas the 8 Legend gets Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC.
