Here’s a quick roundup of everything we know so far about the phone.

iQOO 9T price in India, availability

Buyers will also be extended an instant discount of Rs 4,000 upon using ICICI Bank cards for the prices, thus bringing the effective price down. iQOO will also provide an exchange bonus for buyers which will amount to Rs 7,000 for an iQOO device and Rs 5,000 for other devices. Customers can also opt for a 12-month no-cost EMI option on offer.

iQOO 9T specifications, features

The iQOO 9T that’s going to hit the Indian market is essentially a rebranded iQOO 10 that was recently launched in China. The iQOO 9T will sit between the current iQOO 9 and the iQOO 9 Pro, making it the third iQOO 9 series device on sale in India. Thus, there are some confirmations as to what we can expect from the device.

Design

The iQOO 9T dons a slender look and will be available in two colour options – Alpha and Legend. The Alpha colourway has a stealthier look thanks to the play with shades of Black throughout the design. The Legend colourway is a louder colour choice and will include a white and black colour combination with Red and Blue striping. This variant also harks back to iQOO’s longstanding association with BMW’s M motorsport division.

At the back, the top half gets a carbon fibre-like pattern and plays host to the camera housing. The camera housing itself is finished off in gloss black and will get chamfered edges.

Display

The iQOO 9T’s front is dominated by a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display, which is a 2D flexible E5 panel, supports HDR10+ and boasts a peak brightness of 1,500 nits. The display is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 sourced from Corning. The display also is home to a punch hole cutout for the front camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Performance

Under the hood, the iQOO 9T runs the latest Qualcomm processor, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. This top-tier chip is 10 percent faster than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which is found in the iQOO 9 Pro. The chipset is paired to 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Storage is handled by a fast UFS 3.1 type arrangement and gets a capacity of 128GB or 256GB. The storage, however, is not expandable.

The iQOO 9T gets an advanced thermal management system to keep temperatures under control. It gets a 3930mm² Vapor Chamber Liquid Cooling System with an internal capillary structure and power pump to prevent overheating. To supplement gaming, the iQOO 9T also features a dedicated chip to increase the frame rate and optimise colours during gaming.

Camera

The camera department on the iQOO 9T is handled by a triple camera setup with an LED flash at the rear. This triple camera setup plays host to a 50MP GN5 main camera sensor with gimbal stabilsation, a 13MP ultrawide sensor and a 12MP portrait sensor. Upfront, there is a 16MP shooter to tackle video calls and selfies.

This setup is complemented by the inclusion of a V1+ chip. The V1+ chip has been jointly developed by Vivo and MediaTek and aims to power custom image processing. This dedicated ISP chip could help the iQOO 9T take better low-light images even when the light quantity is less than 1 lux.

Battery, charging and other features

To power all this hardware, the iQOO 9T is expected to have a 4,700mAh battery and will get a fast 120W charging system. This fast charging system is said to juice this flagship smartphone up to 100 percent in just 20 odd minutes.

The iQOO 9T is expected to deliver high-end audio output thanks to stereo speakers, Hi-Fi audio, and Type-C audio. Connectivity features such as 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer will also be on offer.

The iQOO 9T is also expected to be IP52 certified as an additional shield of protection for occasional splashes and dunks. The smartphone will run on Android 12-based Origin Ocean custom skin out of the box. It is also good to know that customers can expect three years of system updates and four years of security patch updates for the iQOO 9T.

More details will be available once the iQOO device goes on sale on August 2nd.
