While iQOO is preparing to release the iQOO 16 in China in a few weeks, the Vivo-owned sub-brand could launch the flagship iQOO Pad Ultra alongside it. Until now, it was unclear what iQOO’s high-end flagship would be called. Courtesy of Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo, we now know its moniker, key specifications, and colour variants. With gaming tablets gaining immense popularity in China following the release of the Lenovo Legion Y700 Infinite and Redmagic Astra 2, iQOO seems to be dipping its toes into this niche and, accordingly, gaining traction.

iQOO Pad Ultra colours and availability
According to DCS, the iQOO Pad Ultra could arrive in Ender Black and Star Silver colourways. iQOO is expected to market the tablet around its blazing-fast performance and cooling capabilities, and hence its launch could take place with the upcoming iQOO 16.
iQOO Pad Ultra key specifications revealed
Starting with the display, the iQOO Pad Ultra will sport an 8.8-inch OLED panel. While the resolution and refresh rate haven’t been revealed, one can expect it to at least feature 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the Pad Ultra will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, the same chipset found on the iQOO 15. This processor should be capable of delivering scores of over 40,00,000 on the AnTuTu benchmark, ensuring the tablet can run any high-end game thrown at it.
On top of this, the tablet is expected to pack an active cooling fan for sustained performance. This is a rather interesting addition, since we previously saw built-in fans on phones such as the OPPO K13 Turbo series and iQOO’s own 15 Ultra. A massive 9,000mAh battery could power the Pad Ultra, while considerably fast charging support is expected to be on board.
While replying to a comment, DCS also reveals that the iQOO Pad Ultra will feature support for gaming accessories for an enhanced gaming experience. While the exact details haven’t been revealed, it’s fair to assume that the Pad Ultra could get support for a handheld controller for precise inputs or a dedicated cooling accessory.
From the looks of it, iQOO appears to be taking handheld gaming with the utmost seriousness and wishes to further penetrate the mobile gaming and eSports niche. Compared to its own phones, such as the iQOO 15, iQOO 15 Ultra, or even the upcoming iQOO 16, the Pad Ultra will offer an immersive gaming experience for hardcore mobile gamers, making the tablet not only a gaming device but also an entertainment machine, thanks to its OLED panel.
