The iQOO Z10x (review) has arrived in India as the brand’s latest affordable gaming smartphone. It is powered by the ubiquitous MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor and priced under Rs 15,000 in India. The smartphone competes with the Infinix Note 50s 5G+, which is also a sub-Rs 15,000 device powered by the Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset. Now, does the Infinix device have a more powerful chipset, or is it just a fancier name? To find out, we compared both smartphones on benchmarking and also ran real-life tests to determine which one is the better performer.
Verdict
- AnTuTu: The AnTuTu benchmark app is designed to stimulate the CPU, GPU, memory, and user experience offered by the device to gauge the overall performance. As you can see in the bar chart below, the iQOO Z10x is faster than the Infinix Note 50s 5G+. But the difference between their score is just 3 percent, which practically makes it a tie between these two devices. This is to be expected since the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 and Dimensity 7300 Ultimate are essentially the same chip, with the “Ultimate” naming being a marketing term. Both have 4x Cortex-A78 (2.5 GHz) and 4x Cortex-A55 cores with Mali-G615 GPU.
- Geekbench: In the Geekbench app, which tests only the chipset’s prowess, the Infinix Note 50s 5 G+ takes the lead. The Dimensity 7300 Ultimate scores 15-20 percent higher than the iQOO Z10x’s Dimensity 7300 SoC. This is likely to make the Infinix smartphone faster at completing tasks than the iQOO offering.
- Burnout: The Burnout app tests the device’s performance under sustained heavy load by running an 8-minute strenuous test. The Note 50s 5G+ scored better. The smartphone sustained around 5 percent more peak performance compared to its competitor.
- Gaming test: For the gaming test, we played three moderately intensive titles on these devices for 30 minutes each and measured the temperature increase after each gaming session. The iQOO Z10x seems to have better thermal management, as it ran slightly cooler than the Infinix Note 50s 5G+ in our gaming tests. This means it will stutter less and suffer fewer frame drops during intense gaming, but the difference, again, is not much.
Smartphone | Overall temperature increase after playing three games for 90 minutes |
iQOO Z10x | 14.9 degrees celsius |
Infinix Note 50s 5G+ | 16.2 degrees celsius |
The iQOO Z10x’s base variant starts at Rs 13,499, and the Infinix Note 50s 5G has been priced at Rs 15,999. The iQOO Z10x is a budget gaming smartphone from the brand that offers a raw burst of power, and it shows in the benchmarking scores. If you are on the lookout for a decent performer on a budget, the iQOO Z10x is the one to go for.
The Infinix Note 50s 5 G+, meanwhile, is designed to offer sustained performance over prolonged usage and heavy loads. If you seek consistent performance, the Infinix offering is the better option.
