A new smartphone from the stable of Vivo’s sibling brand iQOO is set to break cover soon, and now, ahead of its official launch, a press note issued by the company has confirmed a host of details. The device in question is the iQOO Z7 5G, and the teaser post has stated that the smartphone will bring 5G connectivity at under Rs 20,000 to India — alongside detailing a set of key specifications to boot.
iQOO Z7 5G specifications, price range confirmed
The company has confirmed that the iQOO Z7 5G will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC, with advertised Antutu benchmark score of over 485,000 points. It will also come with a 64MP primary rear camera with optical image stabilisation, and house an AMOLED display up front. It will feature a 7.8mm slim body, and be priced below Rs 20,000. The company has also confirmed the use of an in-display fingerprint sensor on the device, and will also be exclusive to the Indian market.
The confirmed features join previous rumours that claim that the smartphone will feature a waterdrop notch, which was detailed recently in a live leaked video. The smartphone is likely to be a mid-range offering with 5G connectivity, bringing a sub-Rs 20,000 5G smartphone to India. The latter has been a slim segment, but is expected to see strong growth in the coming quarters.
In terms of its specifications and features, the iQOO Z7 5G appears to run on an older generation chip, which is slower in performance in terms of benchmark data from Antutu. A leaked video showcased further features such as 4K video recording at 30fps and an ultra stabiliser mode, all of which will likely be seen in more detail, once the iQOO Z7 5G is launched in India next week.
