Hong Kong-based Transsion Holdings brand itel has launched the A46 budget smartphone in India, as expected. The handset sports a 5.45-inch HD+ full-screen display and dons a fusion dual tone design at the back. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie operating system out-of-the-box and packs AI dual rear cameras with built-in scenario detection feature and is claimed to identify 1,001 types of objects accurately. The handset takes on the Redmi 6A smartphone in the entry-level segment.

The itel A46 is priced at Rs 4,999 for the variant with 2GB RAM. It will be available in Diamond Gray, Fiery Red, Neon Water, and Dark Water colour options and will be up for grabs via retail stores across India. Jio users get 50GB complementary 4G data for 24 months as well as Rs 1,200 instant cashback on recharges of Rs 198 and Rs 299. The company is also offering a 100-day replacement warranty.

The itel A46 sports a 5.45-inch HD+ IPS display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 720 x 1,440 pixels resolution. The phone is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor (make unknown) and comes in two variants with 2GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage, that is user expandable up to 128GB. The handset boots Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and is backed by 2,400mAh battery.
In the camera department, the itel A46 rocks dual rear cameras consisting of an 8MP primary sensor and VGA secondary shooter with AI. The rear cameras are equipped with low light, auto beauty and portrait modes, scenario detection, text recognition, and is claimed to identify 1001 types of objects. The front camera is a 5-megapixel snapper with a soft LED flash. It comes with rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock for biometric security. Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, dual SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, and GPS.
