“The Jio 2020 Happy New Year is valid for both smartphone and Jio Phone users”
Jio is back with its Happy New Year offer for subscribers in India. The offer is being dubbed as 2020 Happy New Year, and it’s available for both smartphone and Jio Phone users. The offer comes with benefits worth Rs 2,020 for prepaid users. The benefits include unlimited voice calls to Jio numbers as well bundled FUP minutes for calls to other networks, 1.5GB data/ day, SMSes, and access to apps like JioCinema, JiSaavn, and others for a validity of 365 days.
Under the 2020 Happy New Year offer, Jio users recharging with Rs 2,020 will get a Jio Phone and unlimited services including unlimited voice calls with FUP minutes, 0.5GB data per day, SMS, and access to Jio Apps. This offer also comes with 365 days validity as well. It’s a limited period offer that starts from 24th December 2019 across the country. The end date hasn’t been announced yet.
Notably, the Rs 2,020 New Year offer provides the same benefits as the existing annual plan but at a lower price tag. The Jio annual pack otherwise costs Rs 2,199 for benefits such as unlimited voice call (12,000 minutes to networks other than Jio), daily data benefit of 1.5GB per day (total of 547.5GB for a year), 100 SMSes/ day, and access to all Jio apps. The new plans come shortly after Reliance Jio introduced Rs 98 and Rs 149 prepaid plans in the country.
In related news, Jio users will continue to pay for voice calls made to networks at the existing price till December 31st 2020. As per new TRAI notification, the IUC charges of 6p per minute will continue to levy on voice calls made to network other than proprietor for another year. The IUC charges were previously expected to go down to zero paise per minute from January 1st, 2020.
