Jio recently announced a ‘calendar month validity’ plan, priced at Rs 259 for prepaid users in India. The prepaid plan comes with a postpaid-like system, meaning that the recurring recharge cycle will be on the same date every month. This saves time and effort in tracking the next billing cycle. However, does the Rs 259 Jio recharge plan compromise on benefits? We try to find out just that here in this comparison with the Jio Rs 239 plan. Here’s a quick look at how the Rs 259 Jio recharge plan fare against 28 days Jio Rs 239 plan.
Rs 259 Jio recharge plan benefits
Under the newly introduced Rs 259 Jio plan, you will get 1.5GB of mobile data per day for a period of one month. This period could be either 30 days or 31 days (28/29 days in the case of February) depending on the month of recharge. So the total data you would be getting in the recharge would be around 45-46.5GB. Along with this, the plan is bundled with unlimited voice calls, 100 free outgoing SMSes per day, and access to a bunch of subscription services such as JioCinema, JioCloud, JioTV, and JioSecurity.
Rs 239 Jio recharge plan benefits
As for Rs 239 Jio recharge plan, you get a total of 42GB of data, which is capped at 1.5GB per day, as well as unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and a complimentary subscription to Jio apps including JioCinema, JioCloud, JioTV, and JioSecurity. The validity of this plan is 28 days.
The major difference between the two Jio recharge plans, Rs 259 and Rs 239, is their validities. The Rs 259 plan is valid for a month, irrespective of the number of days, while the Rs 239 Jio recharge plan has a fixed 28 days validity. If you calculate the per day cost of both plans, you end up paying marginally more with Rs 259 plan compared to Rs 239 tariff for 30 days. However, that evens out for months with 31 days as the recurring recharge cycle remains the same.
