Back in November, the Indian telecom segment witnessed yet another price increase, as the three leading telecom companies – Jio, Airtel, and Vi – announced an increase in the pricing of their respective prepaid recharge plans. The prepaid tariff hike, which was announced in November, came into effect in December. In addition to revised recharge plans, Jio, Airtel, Vi, and BSNL also introduced new prepaid recharge plans in India. Today, we have listed down all the prepaid recharge plans announced by the leading telcos in India in December 2021. So, without waiting any further, let’s get started.
New prepaid recharge plans announced in December 2021
1. Vi
Vodafone India (VI) launched four new prepaid recharge plans in India in December 2021 right after it announced an increase in the pricing of its prepaid recharge plans. The telco unveiled its Rs 155, Rs 239, Rs 666, and Rs 599 prepaid recharge plans in the country.
Vi Rs 155 prepaid recharge plan: Vi’s Rs 155 prepaid recharge plan is its cheapest offering as of now. The plan comes with 1GB of high-speed data, unlimited free calling, 300SMS, and a validity of 24 days.
Vi Rs 239 prepaid recharge plan: With the Vi Rs 239 prepaid recharge plan, users get 1GB of high-speed 4G data per day, 100 SMS per day, truly unlimited voice calling, and a validity of 24 days.
Vi Rs 666 prepaid recharge plan: The Vi Rs 666 prepaid recharge plan provides the user with a truly unlimited voice calling, 1.5GB high-speed daily data, 100SMS per day, ‘Binge All Night’ feature, which allows for unlimited data usage between 12 midnight and 6am, weekend data rollover, Vi Movies and TV, and up to 2GB of backup data per month. The pack comes with 77 days validity.
Vi Rs 699 prepaid recharge plan: Lastly, Vi introduced its Rs 699 prepaid recharge plan. With this recharge plan, one gets to enjoy 3GB of high-speed daily data, 100 free SMS per day, truly unlimited voice calling, ‘Binge All Night’ feature, which allows for unlimited data usage between 12 midnight and 6am, weekend data rollover, Vi Movies and TV, and up to 2GB of backup data per month. The plan comes with a validity of 56 days.
Alongside these newly unveiled plans, the telco has introduced updated pricing for its existing recharge plans. Here’s the list:
Vi Rs 99 prepaid recharge plan (earlier Rs 79): Vi Rs 99 recharge plan comes with Rs 99 worth talktime, 200MB high-speed date, 1p/sec voice tariff, and 28 days validity.
Vi Rs 179 prepaid recharge plan (earlier Rs 149): Vi Rs 179 recharge plan offers unlimited voice calls, 300 SMS, 2GB of high-speed data, and 28 days validity.
Vi Rs 269 prepaid recharge plan (earlier Rs 219): Vi Rs 269 recharge plan comes with unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, 1GB of high-speed daily data, and 28 days validity.
Vi Rs 299 prepaid recharge plan (earlier Rs 249): Vi Rs 299 recharge plan comes with unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, 1.5GB of high-speed daily data, and 28 days validity.
Vi Rs 359 prepaid recharge plan (earlier Rs 299): Vi Rs 359 recharge plan provides unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, 2GB of high-speed daily data, and 28 days validity.
Vi Rs 479 prepaid recharge plan (earlier Rs 399): Vi Rs 479 recharge plan provides unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, 1.5GB of high-speed daily data, and 56 days validity.
Vi Rs 539 prepaid recharge plan (earlier Rs 449): Vi Rs 539 recharge plan provides unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, 2GB of high-speed daily data, and 56 days validity.
Vi Rs 459 prepaid recharge plan (earlier Rs 379): Vi Rs 459 recharge plan provides unlimited voice calls, 1,000 SMS, 6GB of high-speed data, and 84 days validity.

2. Airtel
Airtel announced its Rs 666 pack in India in December. The Airtel Rs 666 prepaid recharge plan comes with 1.5GB of high-speed daily data, unlimited voice calls made to any network, and 100 free SMS per day. On top of the newly announced prepaid plans, Airtel also increased the pricing of its existing prepaid recharge plans. Here’s the list:

Airtel Rs 1,799 prepaid recharge plan (earlier Rs 1,498): Airtel Rs 1,799 prepaid recharge plan comes with a year-long validity, has a total of 24GB of high-speed data, 100 SMS/day, and unlimited voice calling.
Airtel Rs 2,999 prepaid recharge plan (earlier Rs 2,498): Airtel Rs 2,999 prepaid recharge plan, the most expensive plan by the telco, comes with 365 days validity, 2GB daily high-speed data, 100 SMS/day, and unlimited voice calling.
3. BSNL
BSNL announced a new Rs 187 prepaid recharge plan in India in December 2021. The BSNL Rs 187 prepaid recharge plan comes with 28 days validity, unlimited calls to any network, 100 free SMS per day to any network, and 2GB of high-speed daily data. Once the 2GB data cap reaches, the internet speed is throttled at 80kbps.
4. Reliance Jio
Much like other private telcos, Reliance Jio also introduced a price hike and its new prepaid recharge plan pricing as well. Here’s the list of the Reliance Jio prepaid recharge plans introduced in December 2021:
