Jio Book laptop price in India, availability

The Jio Book laptop is priced at Rs 19,500 and is on sale via the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). At the time of writing this, the website listing says there were only 10 units in stock but we expect the stock to be filled soon. As said, only government department employees can purchase the laptop at the moment. Speculations are rife that the JioBook might be available for all starting Diwali. It isn’t clear whether the price will be different for a general audience.

Jio Book specifications

The Jio Book laptop sports an 11.6-inch HD display with a 1366×768 pixels resolution. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor paired with Adreno 610 GPU for graphics. The chipset used is quite dated for today’s standards but considering the price, we can’t complain much. The Jio Book 4G’s body is made of plastic and there’s a ‘Jio’ logo on the lid. We also see Jio written on the Windows button on the keyboard.

The Jio Book is equipped with just 2GB RAM and the storage details are not clear at the moment. It appears the laptop seems to be running a custom version of the operating system, which could be dubbed the Jio OS. There is an HD camera as well for video recording. There are some pre-installed apps, a Microsoft Ad browser, and supports Jio Cloud PC.
