Jio Book laptop now available for all through Reliance Digital: price, specifications

Jio Book price in India was revealed a few weeks ago and now the laptop is available for the general public via the Reliance Digital website.

The Jio Book laptop was unveiled at the India Mobile Congress earlier this month and is the brand’s first-ever laptop. Soon after the announcement, the laptop went on sale exclusively via the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), revealing complete specifications. The laptop was only available for government employees to purchase via the GeM website. However, that changes today as the Jio Book is now available for everyone via the Reliance Digital e-commerce website.

Unlike the Rs 19,500 price listed on the government website, the Jio Book price in India on Reliance Digital is considerably less. The listing also has images and complete specifications of the laptop, which gives us an idea of what one will get after the purchase. The company is targeting students with its aggressive pricing.

Jio Book laptop is priced at Rs 15,799 on Reliance Digital. Additionally, there are some Bank offers as well. Customers buying the laptop can avail 10 percent instant discount with Axis, Kotak, ICICI, HDFC, AU, INDUSIND, DBS, Yes, and other major Bank Credit cards.

The laptop is part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India) campaign and is made in India, with the class 1 division.

The Jio Book laptop sports an 11.6-inch HD display with a 1366×768 pixels resolution. While the listing only mentions the laptop will be powered by a 64-bit Octa-Core processor we know the chipset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 paired with Adreno 610 GPU. The SoC is paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB eMMC storage that is expandable up to 128GB.

The laptop runs on JioOS, which is claimed to be highly optimised and lightweight for superior performance. There is Jio Store on board for customers to download and install third-party applications. The Jio Book laptop’s 55.1 to 60 AH battery is claimed to offer 8+ hours of battery life on a single charge, which is fairly good. There is also passive cooling support for heat emission. 

Connectivity options include 4G LTE (Jio network), Bluetooth 5.0, 1 HDMI mini, Wi-Fi, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It is equipped with 1.0W stereo speakers and a 2MP web camera to take video calls. Jio says that for SIM activation, customers have to visit the nearest Jio Store with ICCID (SIM number), complete their KYC and choose their preferred data plan.
