“New Jio Fiber users are now being charged for broadband services, while existing users are being asked to choose a broadband plan”

Jio Fiber broadband users have so far been enjoying unbilled services, but the days of free internet usage are now over. According to a report by The Economic Times, Reliance Jio has started charging new Jio Fiber users and is asking existing subscribers to select one of the plans that Jio announced during its commercial launch. Last month, ET reported that Jio Fiber users would get another month of free services due to the company upgrading its internal billing system. Now, users will have to choose a tariff plan and start paying for the service on a monthly or annual basis. To recall, Jio Fiber broadband plans are priced at Rs 699, Rs 849, Rs 1,299, Rs 2,499, Rs 3,999, and Rs 8,499 and the same offer 100GB, 200GB, 500GB, 1,250GB, 2,500GB, and 5,000GB bundled high-speed data, respectively.

“All new JioFiber customers, who’ve put in the Rs 2,500 refundable deposit, are now being charged in the big metro markets, and commercial billing on a pan-India basis should be operational in a couple of weeks,” a person with direct knowledge told ET.

Around 500,000 Jio Fiber trial users who signed up before the commercial launch in September will be asked to choose a tariff plan, and this process is expected to happen in phases and should be completed in a month. You can check out all the Jio Fiber tariff plans below.
