Jio Phone Next, which was announced last month at Reliance’s AGM 2021, is all set to go on sale in India on September 10th. The handset is said to be the most affordable 4G smartphone in the country. While the company is mum on Jio Phone Next price in India, a recent leak suggests that it could cost Rs 3,499. As for the Jio Phone Next specifications, it’s tipped to sport a 5.5-inch HD screen, Snapdragon 215 SoC, 13MP rear camera, 8MP selfie camera, Android 11 (Go edition), and a 2,500mAh battery. Here’s a quick specs-based comparison of the upcoming low-cost 4G Jio phone with Redmi 9A, Realme C11 2021, and Samsung Galaxy M12. These are the most affordable smartphones from Xiaomi, Realme, and Samsung in India right now.

Redmi 9A is a budget-centric smartphone with a 6.53-inch HD+ (1600×720) LCD display and 2GHz MediaTek Helio G25 chipset, which is equipped with HyperEngine technology and IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. This is paired with up to 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage. The handset runs Android 10-based MIUI 12 out of the box. For photography, the phone packs a single 13MP AI camera with LED flash at the back, while up front, it packs a 5MP snapper for selfies and video calling. The phone is driven by a 5,000mAh battery and sports connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, and micro USB port for charging. 

Overall, the Redmi 9A seems to be a better offering than JioPhone Next; however, it comes at a price. The phone is currently selling on the company’s official website with a Rs 6,999 sticker price, which is almost double the alleged price tag of the JioPhone Next.

Realme C11 2021 specifications

The Realme C11 2021 packs a 6.5-inch LCD that bears HD+ resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a V-shaped notch for the selfie camera at the top. The phone features an 8MP camera at the rear with an LED flash and full-HD video recording option and a 5MP camera at the front with an HD video recording option. It’s driven by a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support and runs Realme UI Go edition atop Android 11 out of the box. The phone is powered by the Unisoc SC9863 chipset, which is a capable chipset in the entry-level segment but needs to be tested against the JioPhone Next-powered Snapdragon 215 SoC.

The Realme C11 2021 price in India is set at Rs 6,999 for the sole 2GB RAM and 32GB storage onboard.

The Galaxy M02 is the most affordable smartphone from Samsung’s stable at the moment. The handset is listed on the company’s official website with a Rs 7,499 price tag for the 2GB RAM + 32GB storage onboard, while the 3GB RAM + 32GB variant costs Rs 7,999. The handset will take on the JioPhone Next with MediaTek MT6739W chipset under the hood and a 6.5-inch HD+ Infinity-V display. In optics, the Samsung Galaxy M02 sports a dual-rear camera setup consisting of a 13MP primary and a 2MP macro unit. Selfies and video calls are handled by a 5MP module. Software-wise, the handset runs Android 10-based One UI 2.0 out of the box.
