Jio Phone recharges priced at Rs 49 and Rs 69 launched with 14-day validity, up to 7GB data

“The Rs 49 and Rs 69 Jio Phone recharges offer just 14-day validity, compared to 28 days of validity on the other prepaid packs for 4G feature phone users”

The Rs 49 Jio Phone recharge has made a comeback as the operator has expanded its portfolio of prepaid packs for users of its 4G feature phones. Along with the new Rs 49 Jio Phone recharge, buyers can also opt for the new Rs 69 pack. Both these packs come with voice calling, SMS, and data benefits. Interestingly, the Rs 49 pack was discontinued just two months ago when the Mukesh Ambani-promoted telecom operator revised packs to offer more data and calling benefits but at a higher price. These new Jio Phone recharges will be available alongside the existing All-in-One Rs 75, Rs 125, Rs 155, and Rs 185 packs that are offered for the 4G feature phones.

The first thing to note about the new Jio Phone recharges is that they offer short-term validity, i.e. subscribers will get only 14-day validity with both the Rs 49 and Rs 69 packs. This is half of the 28-day validity offered for the All-in-One plans. As for the specifics, the Rs 49 recharge comes with 2GB of data, 25 SMSes, unlimited Jio-to-Jio calling, 250 minutes of calling to other networks’ numbers for the entire validity period. There is no daily cap on the data subscribers can consume; however, once the 2GB high-speed data is exhausted, the mobile data speed will be limited to 64kbps.

Moving on to the Rs 69 Jio Phone recharge, subscribers will get a total of 7GB data for the entire 14-day validity period. However, the per-day cap on the data is 0.5GB (i.e. 500MB per day). Like other Jio plans, the data speed will be restricted at 64kbps once the daily 4G data is used up. Other details to note about the Rs 69 Jio Phone recharge include unlimited Jio-to-Jio calling, 250-minute calling to non-Jio numbers, and 25 SMSes for the validity period. Additionally, both the new recharge packs come with complimentary access to Jio apps such as Jio Music, JioCinema, etc.
