After the successful launch of the Jio True 5G Welcome offer in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Varanasi, and Nathdwara, India’s largest telecom network is extending the beta trial programme in more cities, including Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Jio claims that its True 5G network is already being experienced by lakhs of customers across the above-mentioned six cities. It says the response has been extremely positive so far and that the customer insight and feedback are helping Jio build “the most advanced 5G network globally.”

Jio users are said to be experiencing anywhere between 500 Mbps to 1 Gbps speeds on their 5G smartphones. To recall, Jio Welcome Offer enables unlimited high-speed 5G data to those select customers who have received the opt-in invitation through the MyJio application.

Jio 5G now in Bengaluru and Hyderabad

Jio True 5G network will be available in Hyderabad and Bengaluru from November 10th, 2022. As said, the beta trial offer is available only to those customers who are invited and opt-in manually. Jio Welcome offer allows users to get unlimited 5G data with up to 1 Gbps+ speed. However, it isn’t clear on what basis Jio is pushing invitations to customers but we believe, it is dependent on the area in a city where the network is available initially.

Jio True 5G is said to have a three-fold advantage, which makes it essential to offer better speeds. Firstly, the ‘Stand-alone 5G architecture with advanced 5G network with Zero dependency on 4G network. Next, the largest and best mix of 5G spectrum across 700Mhz, 3500MHz, and 26MHz bands. Carrier Aggregation seamlessly combines these 5G frequencies into a single robust ‘data highway’.

Jio Bengaluru

Users who have received the invite need to enrol themselves in the ‘Welcome Offer’ trial to use the Jio 5G network. Invited customers need to look for the ‘Jio Welcome Offer’ banner on the top portion of the app. If there is no such option, it means that the invite is yet to roll out to your mobile number. Customers next have to click the ‘I am interested button.

While most Android 5G phones have received the necessary update to enable Jio 5G services in India, iPhone users will have to wait until December to experience the next-gen mobile connectivity. However, iPhone users willing to enrol in the iOS 16.2 beta update can experience 5G services right now.
