The Nothing Phone (1) was launched in India and globally in July. With that said, let’s look at the patch notes of this Nothing Phone (1) firmware update.
Nothing Phone (1) 5G update brings support for Jio True 5G
To check if your device received this update, head toward Settings -> System -> System update -> tap on the ‘Check for update’ button. If available, you’ll witness a teeny-weeny update with a size of 22.20MB. The patch note says that updating the software will fix some network issues, and Indian users covered by Reliance Jio can now access 5G. You can simply click the ‘Download and install’ button to update your smartphone.
The Nothing Phone (1) supports all 5G bands: n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n40, n41, n77, and n78. This means you’ll be able to experience the Jio True 5G network if it’s available where you live. Currently, Jio 5G network is only available in select cities, including Delhi, Varanasi, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
You might have to wait a bit longer if your city is not on the list mentioned above, as Jio plans to bring its 5G services to every town, talukdar, and tehsil by December 2023.
