- Jio mobility, JioFiber, and JioMart accounts can now be controlled via WhatsApp.
- Jio users can recharge their number, get a new Jio SIM, support for JioFiber, and more directly from WhatsApp.
- Just send ‘Hi’ to 7000770007 on WhatsApp.
Jio users now get full control of their mobility, JioFiber, and JioMart accounts via Whatsapp. Considering WhatsApp is a popular chat application, it should allow better ease of usability. Jio users can directly recharge their number through WhatsApp. You can also get a new Jio SIM or Port-in (MNP), get support for JioFiber, international roaming, and JioMart all through WhatsApp now. This new feature comes after WhatsApp-owned Facebook had invested in Jio back in April 2020 for a 9.99 percent stake. Notably, JioMart is already integrated within WhatsApp and allows users to place orders on the chat application.
How to recharge Jio number using WhatsApp
Coming back to Jio-WhatsApp integration, Jio users need to just send a ‘Hi’ or any request message to 7000770007 on WhatsApp and the support executive will respond to the query accordingly. Users can even raise a complaint and get it resolved. For now, it supports English and Hindi, with more languages to follow in the coming months. The poster image shows the WhatsApp support will support a variety of payment options, including Google Pay (popularly, GPay), PhonePe, Paytm, Amazon Pay, e-Wallet, credit and debit cards.
Separately, Jio Phone and other KaiOS based feature phones have received WhatsApp voice calling functionality. It works through VoIP (voice over internet protocol) technology and requires users to have an active Wi-Fi mobile data connectivity for the calls to go through. WhatsApp should be updated to the latest V2.2110.41 version to get the WhatsApp voice calling feature. To make WhatsApp voice calls, users need to head to Options > Voice Calls on any chat thread and they attend WhatsApp voice calls on their feature phones just like normal calls but would still require internet connectivity.
