Jio Phone Next has officially been launched in India. The cheapest 4G smartphone from Mukesh Ambani-promoted telco will be available for sale in the country from Diwali, i.e. November 4th, at an effective price of Rs 1,999. The actual JioPhone Next price in India is set at Rs 6,499. The smartphone has jointly been developed by Google and Jio. It was initially unveiled earlier this year at Jio’s 2021 AGM meet; however, the company didn’t reveal much back then. The Jio Phone Next specifications were revealed a couple of days ago. Now, the company has gone ahead and released details of how to buy the Jio Phone Next in India, its price, EMI plans, recharge benefits, and more.
How to buy Jio Phone Next
As stated above, the Jio Phone Next sale in India will kickstart from Diwali, which is on November 4th. You can buy it from JioMart retailer near you. The company in its press release has said that customers can show their interest in Jio Phone Next by
- Visiting nearest Jio Mart digital retailer, or
- Visiting JioPhone Next official website, or
- On WhatsApp, sending ‘Hi’ to 7018270182
Those who register will get a confirmation message from Jio when the device is available. They can then walk into the nearest JioMart retailer to collect their Jio Phone Next.

Jio Phone Next price in India
The Jio Phone Next smartphone has been priced in India at Rs 6,499. However, the company has announced easy EMI repayment options that let you buy the smartphone with a Rs 1,999 down payment and the rest through EMIs over 18 or 24 months.
Jio Phone Next plans, benefits
Jio has announced a few EMI plans for its newly-launched smartphone. These Jio Phone Next plans are divided across four tiers: Always-on, Large, XL, and XXL, and include the handset’s cost and the data costs. There is additional Rs 501 processing fee for EMI transactions.
The Always-on Jio Phone plan comes with Rs 300 and Rs 350 denominations for 24 months and 18 months respectively. It’s also bundled with 5GB data and 100 min/ month voice call benefits. The Large plan is priced at Rs 450 for the 24 months and Rs 500 for 18 months. Its benefits include 1.5GB data/ day along with unlimited voice calls to any network across the country.
The XL and XXL plans start at Rs 500 and Rs 550 respectively. They both come with unlimited voice calls; however, the Jio Phone Next XXL plan offers 2.5GB data/ day as opposed to 2GB on the XL plan.
Jio Phone Next specifications
The Jio Phone Next specifications, for those unaware, include PragatiOS, which is said to be an optimised version of Android, and a 5.45-inch HD+ display that bears Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with anti-fingerprint coating atop. It rocks an unknown 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 chipset coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage under the hood. The storage is further expandable up to 512GB. The phone is driven by a 3,500mAh battery. Other features include a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP selfie camera, and connectivity features like dual nano-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, micro USB, and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
