Rishab Shetty’s Kantara, an action thriller film that released on September 30th and later became one of the biggest hits of 2022, will now start streaming on Netflix in Hindi from December 9th, 2022. The movie received immense love from the audience post its release in both Theatres and on OTT. It is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video in four languages: Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. However, ever since its release the audience has been eagerly waiting for the Kantara Hindi dubbed version of the movie and now finally, we have a release date.
The movie starring Rishab Shetty as the lead, Sapthami Gowda, and Kishore also become the second highest-grossing Kannada film of all time. The Hindi dubbed version of the movie was initially expected to launch on Amazon Prime Video. However, it was only a few days later when another news clarified that it is Netflix that has bagged the Hindi rights to the movie.

Prime Video bagged the digital streaming rights for Kantara and thus, it is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video in four languages. However, the Kantara Hindi OTT rights were bagged by Netflix and the movie will start streaming on OTT from December 9th,2022.

Due to its popularity, Kantara which was initially released in Kannada, was later dubbed in theatres in several languages, including Hindi. On Amazon Prime Video, users can currently only watch it in four languages: Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, or Malayalam. The Hindi dubbed version is all set to release on Netflix this week.

The Hindu wrote in its review that, “Rishab Shetty succeeds in meticulously bringing a tale of myths, legends, and superstition, and that too in his native dialect.” Meanwhile, The New Indian Express said the film is “a compelling revenge-action drama with a neat blend of crime and divinity.” The Times of India’s review of Kantara called the movie “a visual grandeur”
And to the audiences utter happiness, Kantara is also out of the controversy regarding its popular song ‘Varaha Roopam’ as the courts have directed the filmmakers to add the song back to the film.
