Kia India installs the country’s fastest charger in Kochi
The new fast charger is quicker than the one that the company previously installed at Gurugram and will cater to EVs from all brands that can utilise the system. Kia India plans to install 15 more 150kW fast chargers across 12 cities in the country.
“This is a significant milestone for us at Kia India as we continue strengthening our commitment to developing EV infrastructure in the country and contributing to India’s mobility growth story”, said Myung-sik Sohn, Kia India Chief Sales Officer. He added, “Our EV journey in India does not stop here. In fact, we are in the process of setting up more charging stations at our EV dealerships across the country to reduce the issue of charging time and range anxiety that usually follows EV customers.”
Kia India is not only working on establishing a charging network in the country but has also imagined an EV portfolio for the country. The Korean automaker has launched the Kia EV6 premium crossover in India and competes with the likes of the BMW i4. Kia-Hyundai is also likely to introduce soon the Hyundai Kona EV facelift, Hyundai IONIQ, Kia Niro EV and more.
