“The Kodak Ektra features a 13MP selfie camera, 3GB RAM and 3,000mAh battery”
Kodak, the camera brand of yesteryear has launched the Ektra, a camera-centric smartphone aimed at enthusiastic photographers in India.
The USP of the Kodak Ektra (first impressions) is the large 21MP Sony IMX230 sensor at the back with f/2.0 aperture, OIS, PDAF and dual-LED flash. In the front, the smartphone features a 13MP shooter with PDAF and f/2.2 aperture. Kodak has tried to emulate a retro camera look for the device and has wrapped the Ektra in artificial leather. The processor powering the device is a 2.3GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 chip with 3GB of RAM provided for multitasking. The 5-incher sports a full HD display and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded to 128GB via a microSD. The device is fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging.
The Ektra’s camera UI comes with a scene selection dial that allows users to access different shooting modes like Manual, Sports, Bokeh, Landscape, Macro and more. It comes with Google’s Snapseed photoediting app, as well as the Super 8 app for applying effects similar to Kodak’s Super 8 films. The smartphone runs the dated Android Marshmallow out-of-the box, and there’s no word on if an update to Nougat is in the pipeline.
Interested buyers will have to shell out Rs 19,990 for the smartphone. The Kodak Ektra will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting 4pm on July 18th.
