Lava Aura Curve launched in India with 6.67-inch AMOLED display, Dimensity 7100, 6,000mAh battery and more

Highlights
  • The Lava Aura Curve is the only phone under Rs 25,000 to feature an AMOLED display in recent past.
  • The phone will be available through Lava’s offline retail network.
  • The Lava Aura Curve competes against the Infinix Hot 70 Pro in its segment.

After back-to-back launches under the Virat series in recent months, Lava unveiled the Aura Curve today, an offline-centric smartphone with a curved AMOLED display and a sleek body, priced under Rs 25,000. While the phone boasts respectable specifications, given the market situation where memory price hikes have forced brands to cut features, the Lava Aura Curve adds a rear LED display to show key information and stand out from the crowd.

Lava Aura Curve price, availability, sale

The Lava Aura Curve is priced at Rs 23,999 and comes in a single storage variant comprising 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. As stated above, the smartphone is meant for the offline segment and accordingly will be sold through Lava’s offline retail network across India.

The colour variants of the Lava Aura Curve include Him Silver and Ambar Blue.

Lava Aura Curve specifications, features

As the name suggests, the Lava Aura Curve features a 6.67-inch FHD+ 3D curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,100 nits peak brightness, and 1920Hz PWM dimming. The display is protected by Al-Si DT Star 2 cover glass, and the build is military-grade certified. It also has a rear display with multiple LEDs that alerts users to incoming calls, messages, and app notifications, and even shows the volume level. This should be a nifty feature for those who prefer to keep their phones face down.

The MediaTek Dimensity 7100 powers the Aura Curve, the same processor that powers Lava’s Virat Curve and the Infinix Hot 70 Pro. Per our experience with the Virat Curve, the chipset should relay enough prowess for handling day-to-day tasks and even playing medium-level games, such as Clash Royale and BGMI at nominal settings. For optics, it packs a 50MP SONY IMX752 primary camera with EIS, plus a 13MP selfie shooter up front.

Along with the curved display, the bloatware-free software remains a key highlight, as with most Lava releases. The software runs on Android 16 and comes with two OS upgrades and three years of security patch updates. A 6000mAh battery provides juice to the phone, which is claimed to deliver up to 720 hours of standby, with 45W fast charging support and a 33W charger in the box.

Noteworthy additions to the Lava Aura Curve include dual stereo speakers with dual-mic noise cancellation, a vegan leather rear, an IP64 rating, and Vayu AI, which can answer user queries instantly via text and voice.

How does the Lava Aura Curve compare to the competition?

With the MediaTek Dimensity 7100, the Lava Aura Curve goes head-to-head with the Infinix Hot 70 Pro, which has the same chipset and retails for Rs 24,999. While both smartphones use the same processor, the Hot 70 Pro has a 1080p LCD display, giving the Aura Curve a clear advantage in displaying vivid contrast and deep blacks.

In battery and camera, both should be equally matched, with a 50MP primary camera and a 6,000mAh battery. In software, however, the Infinix Hot 70 Pro’s XOS 16 should offer a more well-rounded experience, thanks to its mature, polished design language. All things considered, the Lava Aura Curve stands out as one of the few phones in the segment with an AMOLED display, making it ideal for content binge-watchers, while the Infinix Hot 70 Pro suits users who want a more mature software experience.
