Lava has added a new smartphone to its popular Iris X series, the Iris X1 Atom. The phone features the same premium looking design seen in the high-end Iris X series devices. The entry-level offering is being targeted at first-time smartphone buyers, said the company. The handset runs Android 4.4 KitKat, but will receive an update to Android Lollipop in the coming months.
As far as the specs are concerned, the Lava Iris X1 Atom packs a 4-inch display bearing a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor of unknown make, further supported by 512MB of RAM and a 1,750mAh battery. It houses 4GB of flash memory, which users can further increase up to 32GB via a microSD card. For imaging, the Iris X1 Atom sports a 5MP rear camera with a PureCel sensor and an LED flash, and a VGA front snapper. In terms of connectivity, the phone offers dual-SIM slots, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1, micro-USB, and GPS.
The Iris X1 Atom comes with Smart Swipe gestures including Smart View, double-tap-to-wake, and Active Shot. Priced at Rs 4,444, the smartphone will be available in white silver, black silver, and black gold variants across major retail stores and e-commerce portals.
