Lava has expanded its portfolio of Android tablets with the launch of the QPAD R704. Priced at Rs 8,499, the slate is offered in black and white variants. With a SIM slot for voice-calling, it is the successor to the Lava QPAD e704, which was launched in April this year.
The Lava QPAD R704 runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but the company notes that the tablet is upgradable to Android 4.4 KitKat. It features a 7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. The processor purring under the hood is a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200, paired with an Adreno 302 GPU and 1GB of RAM. There is 8GB of internal memory on board, which is further expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card.
In terms of camera features, it offers a 2MP autofocus rear shooter and a 2MP front snapper for video calls. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB OTG. It sips juice from a 3,500mAh battery, which as per the vendor delivers 10 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time. Lava says the QPAD R704 supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology that offers 30 percent faster charging.
Earlier this month, Lava launched the Xtron Z704 Android KitKat-powered tablet for Rs 6,499. The main highlights of the slate include a 7-inch display, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 16GB of internal storage, and a beefy 4,000mAh battery.
