LEAGOO enters Indian market with S11, M12 and M13 smartphones, plans to invest $200 million in the country

LEAGOO, among the prominent mobile manufacturers in China, has forayed into the Indian market with the launch of S11, M12 and M13 smartphones. The brand is projecting the S series as the flagship variant, while the M series is referred to as a fashionable, full-screen series. The brand has entered the Indian market in partnership with Innovative Ideals and Services India Ltd, which will handle the distribution for the LEAGOO handsets in the country. The company says it has customised its smartphones for the Indian market and lifestyle and plans to invest $200 million (about Rs 1,383 crores) in the country.

Kevin Liu, Chief Operating Officer, LEAGOO said, “We are delighted to finally enter the Indian market, with the support of Innovative Ideals and Services LTD. The Indian market is as huge and dynamic as China, abundant with many opportunities and believe this is the right time to foray here. With the evolving needs and expectations of the consumers, we have introduced our budget smartphone- S & M series.”

LEAGOO S11, M12 and M13 price in India

The LEAGOO S11 is priced at Rs 12,199, while the M12 and M13 cost Rs 6,850 and Rs 9,199, respectively. These come in gradient colours. However, the availability details for all three smartphones haven’t been revealed by the brand yet.

LEAGOO S11, M12 and M13 specifications

The LEAGOO S11 sports a 6.3-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a waterdrop style notch to accommodate the selfie snapper. The handset is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC clocked at 2GHz octa-core processor with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It is coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage that is user expandable. The phone boots Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.

In terms of optics, the LEAGOO S11 features dual rear camera setup consisting of a 13MP primary auto-focus sensor and a secondary 2MP depth unit with LED flash. On the front, there is an 8MP shooter for selfies and video chats. It comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric security. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, dual SIM. A 3,300mAh battery with fast charge support fuels the phone.

LEAGOO M12

The LEAGOO M12 packs a 5.71-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with the same waterdrop-style notch. The handset is powered by the MediaTek MT6739WA processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage that is user expandable. The phone boots Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. On the photography front, the LEAGOO M12 features an 8MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary shooter on the rear with LED flash. The front gets a 5MP snapper for selfies. A 3,000mAh battery fuels the phone and has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric security. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS.

LEAGOO M13

Lastly, the LEAGOO M13 features a 6.1-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a waterdrop-style notch. The handset is powered by the MediaTek Helio A22 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage that is user expandable. Android 9.0 Pie takes care of the software department. In terms of optics, the LEAGOO M12 features an 8MP primary sensor and a 0.08MP secondary shooter on the rear. There is a 5MP snapper on the front for selfies. A 3,000mAh battery fuels the phone and has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric security. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS.
