LeEco (formerly Letv), launches the Le 1s and Le Max in India for Rs 10,999 and Rs 32,999 respectively

Chinese brand LeTV launched the Le1, Le 1 Pro, and the Le Max as the world’s first smartphones to offer USB Type-C ports in April last year. Following its launch in China, the company announced that its plan to expand operations to India. Ahead of its global expansion plans, the company earlier this month decided to ditch the ‘TV’ suffix in its name, and rebranded itself to LeEco (lengthened to Le Ecosystems). At an event in India today, LeEco has marked its debut in India with the launch of the Le 1s and Le Max smartphones in the country.

The Le 1s (first impressions) was unveiled in China in October last year as the world’s first phone to boast a mirror fingerprint sensor. The phone brings a premium all-metal design on a budget. It sports a 5.5-inch full HD display, and runs Android Lollipop-based custom skin called eui. The device utilizes a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 Turbo 64-bit processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM. The handset comes with 32GB of internal memory, a 13-megapixel primary snapper with PDAF and an LED flash, a 5-megapixel front snapper, and a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support. Connectivity features include a USB Type-C port, 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, and an Infrared sensor.

The Le Max is being touted as the ‘Superphone’, which is a metal-clad phablet that flaunts a 6.33-inch 2K display with a pixel density of 464ppi. The phone is powered by a 2GHz octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, aided by a meaty 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. Camera department includes a 21MP rear camera with optical image stabilization, a dual-LED flash, and a 4-UltraPixel selfie shooter. It features a fingerprint on the back, which as per the brand can unlock the device in within 0.15 seconds. The phone comes with Android Lollipop-based eui skin, an ESS Hi-Fi sound chip, Wireless HD, dual-SIM 4G LTE support, infrared remote, and is backed by a 3,500mAh battery. Alongside, the company has also announced the Le Max Sapphire, which comes with a sapphire crystal display and 128GB of storage.

LeEco is known for its content streaming services in China, and the brand is bringing this to India too. The company has partnered with YuppTV to bring over 250 live channels in 12 languages, as well as Eros International for Bollywood movies to its devices. Both the Le Max and and Le 1s will be bundled with a year’s premium subscription to ErosNow.

The LeEco Le Max costs Rs 32,999, while the Le Max Sapphire Edition will set you back by Rs 69,999. The Le Is on the other hand costs Rs 10,999. The new LeEco devices will be available exclusively on Flipkart. The registrations for the devices go live today, and they will be available via flash sales. The Le 1s will go on sale on February 2nd, while the Le Max will be available starting February 16th. Flipkart is also offering 10 percent cashback to Axis Bank cardholders on the launch day.
