Lenovo Chromebook C340 and S340 with 8th-gen Intel chipsets announced

Lenovo has revealed that it will be launching new Chromebook models very soon. The company posted a teaser video showcasing three new laptops. The Lenovo Chromebook C340-11, S340-14, and the C340-15 offer new colours, the latest Intel 8th-generation processors, and more. The C340-15 is the largest of them all and is similar to the Yoga C630. On the other hand, the C340-11 is the successor to the C330, whereas the S340-14 will replace the S330 from last year. The new laptops will offer up to 50 percent improved performance compared to older models with MediaTek chipsets.

The Lenovo C340-11 is the smallest of the three new Chromebook models. It features a 11.6-inch touchscreen display that has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and offers 250 nits of brightness. The laptop is powered by the Intel Celeron N4000 processor, which is paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage. It comes with a 2-in-1 hinge, which means that it can be used as a tablet as well. For connectivity, the C340-11 has two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, 2 USB Type C ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD card slot. It will be available in Platinum Grey and Sand Pink colour options.

Coming to the Chromebook S340-14, it comes with a 14-inch non-touch HD display or a FHD touchscreen. Once again, it is powered by the Intel Celeron N4000 chipset and comes with 4GB RAM and up to 64GB of onboard storage. The laptop doesn’t feature a 360-degree hinge design and has to make do with a 180-degree hinge instead. The S340-14 will be available in a new Dark Orchid colour option, along with Onyx Black.

Finally, the Lenovo Chromebook C340-15, the biggest of them all. This laptop comes with a 15.6-inch FHD anti-glare display and a 720p webcam. The C340-15 can be had with the Pentium Gold 4417U processor or a Core i3-8130U. Again, the chipset will be paired with 4GB of RAM, but you can add up to 128GB of onboard storage. The laptop comes with a full backlit keyboard with a keypad. For connectivity, there’s a single USB 3.1 port, two USB Type-C ports, microSD card slot, and a headphone jack. It will be available in a single Mineral Grey colour option.

Pricing and availability of these new Lenovo Chromebook variants aren’t known yet.
