The Lenovo K5 Pro and K5S smartphones have been launched at an event the company is hosting in China. The new smartphones are affordable offerings and part of Lenovo’s new strategy to gain back market share that it has lost to the likes of Xiaomi, Huawei, and Honor over the past year, as mentioned in the presentation. Both the Lenovo K5 Pro and K5S smartphones feature 18:9 displays and dual cameras with AI integration in the front and the back as their highlights.
Lenovo K5 Pro, K5S price and release date
The Lenovo K5 Pro price has been set as RMB 998 for the base 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. It goes up to RMB 1,098 and RMB 1,298 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage options, respectively. Similarly, the Lenovo K5S price is RMB 798 for the lone 4GB RAM + 32GB storage model. The two smartphones are available to pre-order in China now and will go on sale on October 23.
Lenovo K5 Pro specifications
Lenovo K5 Pro sports a 5.99-inch full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,160 pixels) display and boots the Android 8.1 Oreo-based ZUI custom software. It is powered by the same octa-core 1.8GHz Snapdragon 636 processor that the Redmi Note 5 Pro has, and comes with up to 6GB RAM. The smartphone has internal storage of up to 128GB, with microSD card support for another 256GB.
The smartphone comes with 16MP + 5MP cameras sensors on both the front and back, coupled with LED flash on both sides. The autofocus cameras can record 4K videos and come with modes such as HDR, professional, night scene enhancement, etc. Connectivity features on the smartphones include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, 3.5mm earphone jack, and dual-SIM functionality. Battery capacity of the smartphone is 4,050mAh, and the handset comes in Stylish Black and Elegant Gold colour options.
Lenovo K5S specifications
Coming to the Lenovo K5S, the smartphone has a 5.7-inch HD+ (720 x 1,440 pixels) display and is powered by the octa-core 2GHz MediaTek MT6762 processor. It runs the Android 8.1 Oreo-based ZUI as well, and comes in only one configurations — 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. Buyers will be able to expand the storage by up to 256GB using microSD cards.
On both the back and the front are 13MP + 5MP autofocus cameras with dual-tone flash. The cameras have PDAF and can record videos of up to full-HD resolution. The smartphone has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz only), Bluetooth 4.1, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm earphone jack as the connectivity features. The dual SIM smartphone comes in hybrid configuration, and has a 3,000mAh battery. It will be available to purchase in Black and Blue hues.
